Kia Ora from New Zealand! I am a financial wellness coach who believes in being intentional vs. frugal to get ahead with your money.

I’m all about helping you go from feeling stressed and overwhelmed around money to confident and at peace because nothing ruins a night of good sleep more than money worries.

I believe that money is a lot more than just numbers on a spreadsheet. Your mindset, money story and psychology plays a big role in getting ahead (hate to point out the obvious but you are not a robot!).

How did I get here?

You’re not going to get any judgement from me, because I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. I was doing this for most of my life up until my late 20s. Fact is, at school we are taught maths (ALOT) but nothing about managing money. On top of that we are told by most of our family and society that money is a topic that is taboo and to be avoided. So guess what?! Most of us have our head in the sand!

After the first year of home ownership we realised that most of our mortgage payment was towards interest and we had barely made a dent at paying off any principle (the actual loan). I knew then that something needed to change, so I did what any (former) chronic overachiever would do: I got obsessive and immersed myself into the world of personal development and finance.

Within 7 years, I went from having debt and living pay check to pay check to having a fully paid off home in Auckland (a city known for its high cost of living) at the age of 34.

The best part? All I had to do was start paying attention to my money and mindset. There are many people out there who achieved their money goals by being extremely frugal but that just didn’t resonate with me. I knew that the shiny newness of scrimping and saving every dollar would wear off quickly, so I managed to devise a plan to achieve our goals that balanced living a life that I love now (including flying business class and eating at bougie restaurants) whilst still saving and investing for future me. Win-Win!

The gamechanger for me was when I realised that other people needed help with their money too, and I could help them by teaching them what I had learnt and applied during the past 8+ years. It started with casual chats and dabbling in spreadsheets during lunch breaks, and it has since snowballed into me starting my own money coaching business. There is no better feeling than being able to help people doing what I love everyday. Thank you for being a part of my journey and I can’t wait to be a part of yours!
